    We are delighted to announce that Woodland Academy Trust has won the EdTech Innovator of the Year Award at the National Schools Awards 2025. The awards ceremony took place at the House of Lords, where we were proud to be announced as the winners of this category! VenturEd Solutions UK presented our Director of Education Julie Carson, Digital Development Lead Daniel Davies, CEO Nav Sanghara and CFOO Yong Liu with the award. This award is a celebration of the ambition and collaboration that underpins our digital strategy.

  • MP Visit to Peareswood Primary

    Peareswood Primary School were delighted to welcome back local MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford Daniel Francis MP for a school visit today. He visited Year 5 classrooms to see Peareswood’s flexible learning environments in action, hearing from Headteacher Carla Ferla and Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion Hayley Mourne about how their Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach supports every child to learn in a way that works best for them. Year 5 and 6 pupils also got to ask a wide range of thoughtful questions- from how voting works in Parliament to his journey to becoming an MP- inspiring pupils to imagine how they might become future Members of Parliament one day! Pupils were particularly fascinated to learn about ‘bobbing’- the practice of MPs rising and sitting to catch the Speaker’s attention during debates.

  • Specialist Resource Provision Opens at Lime Wood Primary

    A new chapter for Inclusion at Lime Wood Primary School Lime Wood Primary School is proud to have a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), called Tiny Seed, which opened in November 2025. The SRP provides places for 12–15 children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) where the primary need is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). It is designed to offer specialist support within a mainstream school environment, helping children achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. At Lime Wood Primary, their vision is: “To deliver a curriculum that is provided by good teachers underpinned by an effective blueprint for excellence in culture, behaviour, attainment and wellbeing – to find the champion in everyone.” Their SRP reflects this vision by providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where children with ASD and SLCN can grow in confidence and thrive.

  • MP Visit to Willow Bank Primary
    25th Nov 2025

    Willow Bank Primary School welcomed local MP Abena Oppong-Asare MP on Friday. She spent the morning at their breakfast club, speaking to the whole school and the year 6 parents at their sharing assembly, as well as meeting the School Ambassadors and answering their questions. Abena initially arranged to visit year 6 in response to letters they had written to her regarding conservation issues around Southmere Lake. It was a great opportunity for them to discuss British Values, especially the democratic process, the rule of law and even provide insights into how the children might aspire to be future Members of Parliament one day.

Congratulations to the children, staff, and communities at Lime Wood Primary, Peareswood Primary, Northumberland Heath Primary and Willow Bank Primary for this fantastic recognition, which celebrates the schools' strong and sustained commitment to developing confident, articulate communicators. The London Borough of Bexley team commended our schools' progress in embedding oracy across the school- from regular professional learning sessions to classroom strategies helping all pupils find their voice in every subject. They praised Lime Wood's creative initiatives, including Talking Tables and their Talking Cafe partnership with Age UK Bexley, which celebrate purposeful talk that connects generations and builds empathy.

The third annual Global EdTech Awards (GETAs25) continued to set a new standard in recognising excellence across education and EdTech, with a strong focus on fairness, transparency and genuine impact. The Global EdTech Awards were established to provide an authentic alternative to traditional award programmes.
