Apple Regional Training Centre
We are delighted to announce that Woodland Academy Trust has been reaccredited as the Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC) for Kent and Bexley for another year.
Apple Regional Training Centres deliver courses to build the skills and confidence of educators to use Apple technology inside and outside the classroom. They are a community who share best practices and inspire excellence through teaching with Apple technology.
Being selected as an Apple Regional Training Centre highlights our commitment to facilitating training for teachers to develop skills and build confidence to use Apple technology in the classroom.
Apple Regional Training Centres create a community to share best practice and support teaching staff to attain Apple Teacher status, a professional learning programme designed to support and celebrate educators.
Teachers from across the region can attend courses to build their knowledge and skills using technology in the classroom and earn badges to achieve their Apple Teacher recognition.
Across the UK and Ireland, the goals of all Apple Regional Training Centres are to:
• facilitate training opportunities for teachers to develop skills using Apple technology in the classroom;
• promote Apple in Education and share new products and innovations with educators;
• build Apple Teacher across the region;
• share best practices, build community and inspire excellence.

Daniel has worked in a variety of roles in primary education for the last 11 years and is currently the Assistant Headteacher for Digital Development across the Woodland Academy Trust.
As the Centre Manager for the Kent and Bexley Apple Regional Training Centre, he aims to provide as much support as possible to schools starting out on their digital journey, and to provide the best learning opportunities for every child. Daniel is passionate about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and enjoys sharing this vision with others, exploring how technology can develop all areas of school life for all stakeholders.
Julie is the Director of Education at the Woodland Academy Trust and has over 25 years teaching experience, with 16 of these in a variety of educational leadership positions such as Headteacher, local authority school improvement support, and Executive Head Teacher for a Primary Multi Academy Trust.
Julie pioneered the Trust’s digital journey with the vision of utilising technology to prepare all children for their futures, combined with her passion for curriculum design. Since embarking on this journey in 2020, Julie has spoken about this topic at the EdTech Summit in November 2021 (part of the Schools and Academies Show), the School Resource Management Summit in June 2022, and on the Governing Chatters podcast for the National Governance Association in October 2022- click here to listen to the podcast.
Through the Apple Regional Training Centre, Julie is able to support and coach educational leaders through the strategic planning involved in the EdTech approach.
