Peareswood Primary Wins Bexley Eco Legacy Award 2025!
Peareswood Primary Wins Bexley Eco Legacy Award 2025!
We’re delighted to share that Peareswood Primary has been awarded the Bexley Eco Legacy Award 2025, with our fellow Woodland Academy Trust school, Lime Wood Primary, named as a proud runner-up!
The awards ceremony took place at The Clearing in Lesnes Abbey Woods at the end of May, where the former Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sue Gower MBE, presented the winners with a trophy and certificate.
The Bexley Eco Legacy Award recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental action and sustainability. As part of their prize, Peareswood Primary received £500 from Cory to support ongoing eco-initiatives at the school.
Peareswood has exciting plans for the grant, including expanding their school garden with:
- Climbing plants
- Bird and bug boxes
- Sensory planters filled with aromatic plants and spring-flowering bulbs for children to plant
- A quiet, calming area to support pupil wellbeing.
In addition, the school intends to revitalise an unused area of the field with meadow and wildflower seeds, helping create a thriving habitat for pollinators and a beautiful space for the whole school community to enjoy.
We’re incredibly proud of both Peareswood and Lime Wood for leading the way in environmental responsibility. Their dedication shows how small steps can create lasting, positive change for our planet.
Stay tuned for photos from the awards ceremony!
