Global EdTech Awards celebrations
Woodland Academy Trust wins three awards at The Global EdTech Awards 2025 – celebrating equity and excellence worldwide.
The third annual Global EdTech Awards (GETAs25) continued to set a new standard in recognising excellence across education and EdTech, with a strong focus on fairness, transparency and genuine impact.
The Global EdTech Awards were established to provide an authentic alternative to traditional award programmes. By anonymising all entries, the GETAs ensure that nominations are judged solely on their merits rather than on reputation or marketing spend.
This year’s awards attracted submissions from 20 countries, reflecting the international nature of the education and EdTech community. The calibre of entries was again exceptional, with particular strength shown in evidence-informed practice and innovation designed to support teachers, reduce workload, and improve learning outcomes.
All Winners and Highly Commended awards were announced during a live online ceremony hosted by Mark Anderson (@ICTEvangelist), co-founder of the awards and internationally respected thought leader in education and EdTech. The ceremony was streamed simultaneously to YouTube and LinkedIn for accessibility and to avoid the commercialisation of ticketed events.
The GETAs25 were delighted to reveal Woodland Academy Trust as the winner of ‘Best AI Implementation (Schools)’ at the Global EdTech Awards 2025. This award recognises how we are harnessing artificial intelligence to support teaching, enhance learning, and reduce staff workload. The judges noted: …I absolutely love that this school has approached AI from an ethical, safe position, treating it as an exploration that’s been pedagogically driven…”
Alongside this Trust achievement, we are delighted to celebrate two colleagues who also received individual honours:
- Karys Eagle, HR Manager – winner of ‘Most Impactful Support Staff Member’, highlighting her dedication and the difference she makes every day. Judges noted: “…it was inspiring to see how this HR Manager not only approached their AI-partnerships with critical and ethical thinking, but also how they bravely took calculated safer risks to explore new AI technology integrations across their workflows….”
- Julie Carson, Director of Education – winner of the ‘ICT Evangelist Digital Leader Award’, recognising her inspiring leadership in driving digital innovation. Judges noted: “…Inspiring to see such a proactive approach to implementing UDL and to making such a difference to all learners, but especially those who are SEND…”
These achievements reflect the commitment and passion of our staff across the Trust. Congratulations to everyone across our Trust for making such a positive impact on education.

The Global EdTech Awards Co-founder Mark Anderson commented:
“I’m so proud of how the Global EdTech Awards have grown in three years. From the start, our aim was to strip away bias by anonymising every entry, ensuring recognition is based on genuine impact and innovation. These awards exist to celebrate equity and excellence in education, and I couldn’t be prouder of the community they represent.”
The judging panel for 2025 included highly respected voices from across global education, such as Bronwyn Desjardins (Mauritius), Rachelle Dené Poth (USA), Brett Salakas (Australia), Sethi De Clercq (Thailand) and Al Kingsley (UK). Collectively, they praised the anonymisation process and fairness of judging, the quality of innovation in the entries, and the high standards of the awards and participants.
Since 2024, the GETAs have been Awards Trust Mark accredited, which recognises the integrity and transparency of the programme.
