Schools Awarded the Bexley Oracy Bronze Award!

Lime Wood Primary, Peareswood Primary and Northumberland Heath Primary Achieve the Bexley Bronze Oracy Award!
Congratulations to the children, staff, and communities at Lime Wood Primary, Peareswood Primary and Northumberland Heath Primary for this fantastic recognition, which celebrates the schools' strong and sustained commitment to developing confident, articulate communicators.
The London Borough of Bexley team commended our schools' progress in embedding oracy across the school- from regular professional learning sessions to classroom strategies helping all pupils find their voice in every subject.
They praised Lime Wood's creative initiatives, including Talking Tables and their Talking Cafe partnership with Age UK Bexley, which celebrate purposeful talk that connects generations and builds empathy.
At Northumberland Heath Primary, the borough highlighted how their pupils use purposeful talk every day- from Think–Pair–Share and Agree, Build, Challenge to using talk for reflection, teamwork and problem-solving. They were especially impressed by how oracy has strengthened inclusion, wellbeing and digital learning across the school.
Peareswood were recognised for their strong culture of communication and collaboration, built through dedicated staff training, explicit oracy lessons, and the integration of talk into our digital learning.
Well done to the children, staff, and communities across our schools for making oracy a living part of school culture- helping every child learn to speak with confidence and listen with respect.
We look forward to seeing how the schools build on their success as they work towards the Silver Award!
