Welcome - Our Values and Ethos

Welcome to Peareswood Primary School

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to children, parents and guests of Peareswood Primary School. At Peareswood we promote independence through adventure and excellence through challenge. At the heart of our curriculum is a belief that all children have the potential to excel in all areas.

Our belief that children can excel extends beyond the traditional curriculum, and we offer a strong emphasis on outdoor and adventure learning. We want our children to leave us with qualifications beyond the traditional curriculum. We aim for every child to achieve qualifications in swimming, rock climbing and cycling whilst also working to complete their John Muir Award. We achieve this through our PE curriculum and the use of residential experiences.

We strive to excel through our five school values:

We encourage all children and adults to show respect. We understand that everyone is different, and that everyone deserves to be celebrated for their individual strengths.

We encourage all children to show pride. We want our children to be proud, not just of their own achievements, but of the achievements of others around them.

We strive to instil a love of learning in the whole school community. We want our children to be able to adapt to an ever-changing world around them and to value the difference that education can make to their lives.

We ask that all members of the school community show excellence in everything they do. We want everyone to be the best that they can be.

Finally, we insist that all members of the school community show teamwork. Our children are the adults and leaders of tomorrow and we believe that by working together, they will develop the skills they need to thrive in their future lives.
