Please note that the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 came into effect on 1 September 2013 and removed references to family holiday and extended leave as well as the statutory threshold of ten school days. The amendments make clear that head teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstance does not include a letter from a parent’s employer.


The new policy was approved by the Trust Governing Body for adoption as of 1 September 2013 onwards. We would strongly advise all parents to take note of our term time dates as booking a term time holiday will result in a Fixed Penalty Notice of £60 per child, per adult and, most importantly of all, it can also adversely impact upon your child’s education.
